Barker Ross can support you in finding your next role, whether you have questions about your application, support in finding the right role for you or would like to know a little more about how we can support you in your next career move, we are here to help!

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from our candidates:

I have been put forward for a job vacancy by Barker Ross and want to apply for another job vacancy through Barker Ross, is this possible?

Yes, you can apply and be put forward for as many roles as we consider you suitable for. If you get an offer from more than one client, then the decision will be yours as to which one you accept.

What are the benefits of registering with Barker Ross?

The Barker Ross are a highly reputable, customer centric recruitment agency, with an array of expertise at our disposal. We have in-depth market knowledge and fantastic network relations meaning we will aware of many vacancies that are not advertised, providing more opportunities for you. We also manage your application and will liaise with the client on your behalf. Barker Ross can also give CV feedback, interview advice and negotiate salaries at offer stage.

I have sent a copy of my CV to Barker Ross and I can see vacancies on your website that I think I am suitable for. Why have you not called me?

This could be for any number of reasons. Sometimes clients are specific about industry sector experience. For example, they might have told us that they only want to see candidates with a certain amount of automotive industry experience. It could also be based on the information we hold on you, whereby we don’t think that you would be interested in the role. For example, if you told us that you were looking for a minimum of £45,000 and the vacancy is paying £28,000. If in doubt then please call and we can double check. Rest assured if Barker Ross can put you forward for a position, we will do so.

Will Barker Ross send my CV to clients without contacting me?

No never. We only present your details to a client after we have spoken to you about the vacancy, the company and received your permission to do so.

I have applied for a vacancy and I have not been contacted, why is this?

If we think that you are suitable for the role then we will contact you to discuss the role within two working days. If we have not contacted you by then it could be that we felt you were unsuitable for the role or that we have not received your CV.

I have applied for a vacancy online, does this mean that my details have been sent to the client?

No! We screen all applications and call suitable applicants to discuss the role and make them aware who the end employer is. Your details are only sent to a client once both you and your Consultant agree to do so.

If my application for a vacancy through Barker Ross is rejected, can you provide me with the hiring company’s name?

As we provide a confidential service to both client and candidate, we simply can’t divulge such information.

Can I receive feedback if I am unsuccessful?

Unfortunately, we do not give feedback at the shortlisting stage. We will give feedback after the interview if you are unsuccessful.

Who can I put down as referee?

Our client’s will require the names and addresses of two referees, not related to you, who are willing and able to provide up-to-date references on your qualifications, experience and skills. One of these must be your current or most recent employer. If you have not previously been employed a referee related to relevant voluntary or community work. Please note, personal or character references will not be accepted.

Edyta started with us 2 years ago as a Resourcer with no experience in the recruitment industry and she very quickly became a fantastic ambassador for the company. It is no small thing to start fresh in a completely new environment, especially in the pandemic, but Edyta showed a lot of resilience and determination, which allowed her to take over one of the key clients and make it a huge success! Her commitment and never-ending enthusiasm helped us secure the contract for the next 3 years!
